Where Christ Makes The Difference
Once a term we organise a social event for our parents and carers. Recently, we have had a Soup Share using vegetables harvested from our garden, an Easter Egg Hunt and a stay and play session for parents. It is a great opportunity for parents and carers to get to know us and other parent/carers better.
Termly we hold our LAD's event (Limes Avenue Dad's). This is held on a Saturday morning (9.30 am to 11.00) and gives dads the opportunity to come to Playgroup with their child and experience a play session. Dad's can also relax with a cup of coffee and biscuits.
When numbers and ratios allow, we will take the children on outings into the local community. For example, during the Autumn term 2017, we took the bus on many occasions to Aylesbury and visited: library, post office, green grocers, town centre and a had a train trip to Great Missenden. We have also walked to our local shops/coffee shops/supermarkets including Bedgrove Post Office, Bedgrove Chip Shop, Tesco Tring Road, Bedgrove Costa and More Plus Parton Road. These businesses have made us extremely welcome and the children have learnt how to sit, eat and chat and play games in a social situation.
In the Summer a local farmer invites us to his farm for a picnic. He gives us a tractor ride and tour of his farm. We have play equipment, activity sheets and have our packed lunch.
At Christmas the children perform a nativity for parents and carers with light refreshments afterwards. The children have a Christmas party and have opportunity to dress it their party clothes.
The children and their families are invited to attend other suitable events at the Church.
