Philip Woodley
Philip grew up in a Christian family, but it was not until he was about 12 that he accepted the Lord Jesus as his own Saviour. He moved to London in 1974 when he joined the Civil Service. The following year he was baptised at Bromley Baptist Church, where he served in the Church Young Peoples Fellowship.
Philip moved back to Portsmouth in 1979 worshipping in local churches before settling at Paulsgrove Baptist Church. In 1986 he married Heather and together they led the Sunday School for a number of years before they moved to St Neots. A further job move brought the family to Aylesbury in 1997 where Heather and Philip have been involved in the work of Limes Avenue Baptist Church, as well as serving at Hyde Heath Chapel near Amersham.
After many years of correspondence courses and part-time study Philip was awarded a PhD from Cranfield University in 2006. In 2009 Philip took voluntary redundancy in order to spend more time working for the Church. He now undertakes finance and admin tasks for LABC and a wide range of activities for Hyde Heath Chapel, including occasionally preaching on Sunday mornings. He is also a Local Representative for the Soldiers' and Airmen's Scripture Readers Association (SASRA).
